This year

being year 8 was probably the best year ever out of all my years at st bens. But my favourite part was obviously camp because it was a week when the years 8s just got to hang out and it was great. I really liked the high ropes from camp, they were super scary when u were up there but after I was done i was proud I had done it.

For the big day out no one knows where we're going but I really hope its somewhere super awesome like H20 extreme or something like last year when we went bowling because that was really fun!

Next year ...

Its pretty hard to believe that there's only 3 more weeks until I'm completely finished at St Benedict's.
I've been here for almost 8 years ( my whole school life) and to be honest I am ready for the change
actually I am and I'm not, next year I'm going to wellington girls college and its huuuuuggggggeeeee compared to st bens, so I'm nervous I'm gonna get lost or something.
I'm also excited to be able to make lots more new friends. At wgc there are heaps of netball teams too and I want to do well in the trails and get into a good one. Maybe I might find a new sport I like, there are just so many opportunitys.

Book week stuff

Last week was really busy
First we had a visit from Kate De Goldi, a new zealand author that we have been learning about lately. It was actually really interesting hearing about the her family and how she became interested in writing. She talked to us about her books and a new book she was writing. Also she read out a few of her stories she wrote as a child at school which I really enjoyed to see how far she has came.

Secondly we had the book character parade. Us house captains had to run it and we printed out certificates and presented them to the best dressed students. Every class came out and sat on the courts and there was a pathway down the middle where each class walked down and showed off their costumes. Some of the costumes people came up with were so funny and creative.

At the very end of the day we had a book quiz for the whole school. Well by the whole school I mean 2 people chosen from each year from each house. It went really well and it was interesting to see how much our houses knew. Everyone did so well.

Books I liked when I was younger

I just asked my mum what kind of books I liked to read and she told me that one of my favourite books at age 4 was called My Dad.

I remember this book vaguely i think its about a kid who is saying his dad is a superhero and a role model to him and I remember something about things about animals fathers and whatever I can't really remember sorry.

Last year we had to do a blog post exactly like this and I'm pretty sure I did it about pooh bear and friends and apparently I like that when I was 5 and I like it because it evolved animals.

Sorry this was so bad  :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

AFL

last week the school started learning AFL. Our class does it on a Thursday morning with room 10.
When it was our turn to go down Catherine came in and took us for a house captain meeting, so Eva, James and I happened to miss half of the session.

But when we did come down they were teaching the class how to kick the ball. Some of the catchphrases I remember are laces away from faces and something about flicking the mud off your toe. At the end of the session we had to try and focus on kicking the balls straight/ aim them at your teachers.

PS: if this blog post has a million typos that's because the computer wouldn't stop messing up and being annoying as
