awesomesauce books♥

Front CoverOver the past few weeks I've read lots of books that I've really enjoyed. I found that I really like David Walliams, so I have read most of his books. The one that I most vividly remember and liked the most was the boy in the dress.

Its about a boy who wouldn't mind being a girl for a day or being put into a glamorous dress and being made up. Dennis (the main character) becomes good friends with a girl Lisa (who he has had a crush on for quite a while even though she is 2 years older than him) who invites him over to her house and thinks it would be "funny" to dress him up in a sparkly, sequined dress she recently made. She then coats his face with make up and puts him in high heels which makes him look very much like a girl. Lisa encourages him to go with her to the local shop and fools the shop owner - a good friend of Dennis's that "Denise" is a french exchange student who speaks very little English. After the shop owner is fooled Lisa wants Dennis to come to school as "Denise", which he does. But he tried to kick a football and reveals that he is a girl, the headmaster finds out and Dennis gets expelled.

If you want to find out what happens next, read the book! By tomorrow lunch time there will be a David Walliams display made by Grace, Olivia, Ethan and I and you can get it out and see for yourself.

What I liked aout this book is that sometimes you don't need to be afraid to express how you feel and that there is a happy ending (you will have to read it). I  would recommend it to ages 10+
